We are a federally funded, nonprofit organization governed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC). Our child care centers together form Mount Olive Child Development Center, INC, which provides comprehensive and high-quality daycare for children. Both of our centers are nationally accredited.
We understand that each child enrolled in our program has distinct likes, dislikes, skills, and capabilities. We are also aware that everyone comes from a different family and cultural background. Thus, we believe that good communication leads to better development, and we strive to attain this because our priority is to meet the children at their developmental level.

Eligibility:
Each child’s eligibility will depend on the following:
- Toddler Program: 15 months – 3 years
- Pre-School Program: 2.8 years – 4 years
- Pre-K Program: 4 years – 5 years
- Kindergarten Program: 5 years (by December 31) – 6 years
Priorities for enrollment will be in the following order:
- Full-time working parent(s)
- Parents who are in school and working
- Parents who are enrolled in an approved training program to become employed
- Parents who are looking for employment (approved documentation and process will be required)
Disabilities and Special Needs:
- We serve children with disabilities or special needs who can be accommodated by the Program
Fees: The fees charged to parents is determined on a sliding scale, according to family size and income.
Breakfast, lunch and snack served daily.

Our Kindergarten Program
We serve children who are 5-years-old or who will be 5-years-old by December 31st of the current school year. Our all-day Kindergarten program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our curriculum has been developed based on the curriculums used in the surrounding school districts from which our students originate. This allows them to be better prepared for when they continue on to first grade.
The student to staff ratio allows for small group and individual teaching. Children are engaged daily in literacy, math and art activities, and rotate between science and social studies activities on a weekly basis. Through the different learning areas, children have the opportunity to develop social-emotional skills which is enhanced by our “Second Steps” curriculum.
The academic hours begin at 9am and conclude at 3pm. We offer before school care and after school care determined based on the parent’s work schedule. When the school year concludes in June, children have the option to remain for our summer program through mid-August. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided daily all-year-round.
Children are required to wear uniforms.
